Jacob's Moonlight Ball 2012
What an
amazing fundraising night at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester for the JUMP
Children's Charity!
Jacob's
Moonlight Ball organised by McCarthy Recruitment and Flexible Meeting Space was
an event that was focused on raising funds and a greater awareness our special cause
and the work we do to capture unique and special memories for children with
life limiting health conditions.
Our Team were
all present in their formal wear looking stunning! Not a JUMP 'T' Shirt in sight!
Also
attending was Beth Copeland and her family who have benefited from JUMP
services and it was a great privilege to have them there with us
It was a
wonderful way to celebrate our work and to raise funds. From the moment that
the event started in the Cloud 23 Bar with JUMP Team representatives speaking
with Gordan Taylor CEO of the Professional Footballers Association who provided
sponsorship for the event and Sir Alex Ferguson who kindly gave his time to
attend, to the end of a great and successful night at 1am
The night was
packed with entertainment some of which was provided by our Patrons Carley
Stenson and Pete Pinnington and also with fun ways to give to JUMP with an amazing
auction by iPad Managed by Ian "Roycey" Royce from X Factor fame. In addition there were
incredible raffle prizes donated by various businesses and companies and in
particular The House of Fraser who were incredibly supportive
Without a
doubt this has been the biggest and best fund raiser for our Charity and we
hope that we can persuade our wonderful Patron Kate McCarthy and her Team to
work on another Ball in 2013.
It was an
incredible feeling for me as one of the original founders and Chairperson of
JUMP to be able to be part of such a large event in aid of our Charity and it
made me feel so proud of everyone that has been part of JUMP during the last 8
years. In particular I would highlight the film made by Cristina Garlington
from the Reel Business, included many stunning photographs by Kate Bannister
our photographer from KC Imaging who has been dedicated to JUMP since I spoke
with her by chance on the phone about our Charity several years ago. A very
moving and real tribute to the children we have worked with
Thank you to everyone - who made the Ball possible from the event organisers
to the Hotel, to people who purchased tickets or donated and of course to our
wonderful JUMP Team who continued to deliver unique and special memories for
children with life limiting health conditions during the planning and
preparation of such a special event

Jacob's Ladder Challenge 2012
JUMP Children's Charity would like to thank all those who attended and completed our Jacob's Ladder Challenge, and to all those that sponsored the walkers. It turned out to be a fabulous day with the weather being very kind to us which was a good job with the ever changing terrain of the High Peak district.
It took the twenty walkers just over 5 hours to complete the 8.5 miles of the route that seems to get more and more challenging every year. Of the twenty walkers, five of them were children all who did really well and acted very responsibly during the walk that sometimes involved climbing over rocks, especially taking the route up towards Kinders Plateau. Also, traversing across the plateau proved really tough with the Peat Bogs at the top going through to Noe Stool and The Woolpacks rock formations. There were some spectacular views seen from there before heading round to descend Jacob's Ladder and finally heading back to Edale
After the walk was finished, we all managed to move our tired legs to the final destination, The Ramblers Inn at Edale for a well deserved drink sharing tales of the trek. Well done to everyone also for making it a safe walk by looking out for and helping each other throughout the trek.
